Jefferson Woman Arrested After “Evidence” Gets Lodged In Fareway Toilet

The Fareway store in Jefferson contacted the police department on Monday, Sept. 11, regarding a female customer who took alcohol from a shelf and into the bathroom. After drinking the alcohol, she attempted to flush the small empty bottles, which became lodged in the toilet. An investigation was opened and the Jefferson Police Department took possession of video footage of the incident. At approximately 12:43 p.m. on Tuesday, Fareway employees contacted authorities again, saying the customer had returned and taken more alcohol to the bathroom. Officers arrived on the scene and made contact with 46-year-old Angela Dawn Beem of Jefferson. She was arrested and charged with theft in the fifth degree, a simple misdemeanor and an arrest warrant was requested for the same charge in Monday’s incident. Future charges are pending for criminal mischief for the cost associated with removing the bottles from the store’s sewer lines.
