A traffic stop on Sunday by the Jefferson Police Department resulted in possible drug charges against a Paton man. At approximately 4:42 p.m. on July 2, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle, driven by 42-year-old, Matthew Losee, speeding in the 400 block of East Lincolnway. As Losee was being cited for excessive speed, the officer detected the smell of marijuana coming from the car. A search of the vehicle resulted in a residual amount of a substance believed to be marijuana being located. The material was sent to the lab for verification and charges are pending test results. Losee was released following the citation.
