ISU Extension Office Hosts EAB Informational Meeting On Monday

The Iowa State University (ISU) Greene County Extension and Outreach Office is hosting an informational meeting on the pest, Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), next week. EAB was confirmed in Greene County in March, bringing the total number of affected Iowa counties to 43. Dr. Donald Lewis, ISU Professor of Entomology and, will speak on treatment options for trees infested with EAB. Mike Kintner, Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship entomologist, will focus on the biology and regulatory matters concerning the beetle. Methods for replacement and maintaining tree diversity will be discussed by Trees Forever Field Coordinatior, Brad Riphagen. No registration or fee is required to attend the seminar. The meeting takes place on Monday, April 17 at Clover Hall at the Greene County Fairgrounds at 6:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m.
