ISU Democrats Holding “Tuition Crisis” Demonstration At Noon Today

School has really just gotten rolling for most college students, but the Iowa State University (ISU) College Democrats are already planning a demonstration for today, calling on Gov. Kim Reynolds to put an end to what they call the “tuition crisis.” Forty-fifth District Representative Beth Wessel-Kroeschell and Senator Herman C. Quirmbach of Story County will be leading the demonstration at noon today in the Free Speech Zone on the ISU campus. They say they are holding the rally because Gov. Reynolds admitted there was no way Iowa families can afford the proposed tuition hikes at ISU, but that she is refusing to use her bully pulpit as governor or responsible budget management to help fix the current shortfalls.
