ISU Appoints New Director Of Natural Resources And Extension

Iowa State University (ISU) has named the new interim associate dean for Extension and director of Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension after his predecessor was named ISU’s vice president of Extension and Outreach. Jay Harmon will be replacing John Lawrence. Lawrence was named to his new role after Cathann Kress left ISU for a position at The Ohio State University. Harmon joined ISU’s staff in 1993 and worked in the university’s widely popular Extension offices, focusing on improved profitability and sustainability, swine housing and advising more than 200 producers on building swine production facilities. Harmon holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, a master’s from the University of Minnesota and a doctorate from Virginia Tech, all in agricultural engineering.
