Isgrig Selected To Take Over For Fitzpatrick, Who Is Retiring As Kuemper’s High School Activity Director

Kuemper Catholic High School Principal, Pete Haefs, announced today (Friday), they have named a successor for Tim Fitzpatrick, who has served as the school’s Activity Director since 2005. Ryan Isgrig, the head boys’ soccer coach and elementary physical education instructor at Kuemper will be taking over the position effective July 1 of this year. Isgrig received a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education from the University of Northern Iowa (UNI), and during his tenure at Kuemper, has led the soccer team to the state championships in 2016, where they finished as runner-ups. He has also been named the 2016 Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Coach of the Year. Isgrig is active in the UNI All Sports Camps, the Special Olympics and Perfect Game Baseball. He and his wife, Stephanie, live in Carroll with their newborn son, Emmitt. Stephanie is director of KuemperCares, the before and after school program. Fitzpatrick is retiring effective June 30, after having spent nearly 39 years in Catholic education. He came to the St. Lawrence School as a seventh-grade and physical education teacher and the school’s athletic director in 1978. He then served as principal at Holy Trinity in the Halbur, Roselle and Templeton parishes before returning to the newly formed Kuemper Catholic School System in 2003. He became the Activity Director in 2005. Fitzpatrick has also coached many students over the years, leading the girls’ basketball team to the state tournament in 2005.
