From now through Oct. 22, parents can register for the Iowa Student Loan Parent Giveaway. Now in the fourth year of the program sponsored by Iowa Student Loan, there will be more prizes than ever awarded to parents with children in grades six through 12 at an Iowa middle or high school. With an increase of 30 prizes over last year, 50 parents will be awarded a $1,000 deposit into a College Savings Iowa plan during the Save Now, Save Later: College Savings Plan Parent Giveaway. “This year we have added parents of middle schoolers to be eligible participants, as it is an important age to start thinking about college plans, even if it seems far in the future,” says Steve McCullough, president and CEO of Iowa Student Loan. No purchase is necessary to enter, but parents will view the handbook, a new online, self-exploratory educational module, as part of the registration process.
