Iowa State Patrol Investigates Single-Vehicle Accident Near Bayard Tuesday Night

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Iowa State Patrol with a single-vehicle accident on Tuesday, Dec. 5 northwest of Bayard. Law enforcement agencies were notified that the accident had occurred at approximately 6:20 p.m. on 330th Street near the intersection with D Ave. The initial investigation has revealed that 20-year-old Crystal Elizabeth Sabus of Carroll was driving eastbound on 330th Street in a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic, when her tire dropped off the pavement on the south side of the roadway. Sabus lost control of the vehicle, crossed the center line and then went back to the south, sliding out of control. She entered the south ditch sideways, rolling two or three times before coming to rest on the vehicle’s side. Sabus was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of possible injuries. There was an estimated $6,000 damage to the car. Sabus was cited for failure to maintain control.
