The Jefferson Police Department uncovered suspected methamphetamine while conducting a routine inventory of an impounded vehicle. At approximately 11 p.m. on Monday, an officer performed a traffic stop at 220th and Elm Streets in Jefferson. The driver, Robert Allen Lindahl of Perry, was cited for driving while suspended, and since he could not drive the vehicle without a valid license, it was towed. It was while the inventory was being conducted that the suspicious substance was found. The inventory stopped immediately and the officer is applying for a search warrant to remove the suspected narcotics for testing. Charges are pending lab results.
