IKM-Manning STEM Day Supports Local Food Pantry

This past month, the IKM-Manning Irwin Elementary held a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) day, following the month’s theme of “One Can, Two Can, Who Can? You Can!” To participate, students were asked to donate one can of soup to be used for the day’s activities, that was then donated to the Manning Food Pantry, which serves all communities of the IKM-Manning district. The day was organized by fifth-grade science teacher, Jennifer Linde, and the Talented And Gifted (TAG) instructor, Lorine Linde, and had several junior high TAG students on hand to help. The kids got the chance to use Bee Bots, Spheros and an Ollie robot to maneuver through soup can mazes. In total, the students donated 231 items to the Pantry.
