Highway 30 Briefly Closed Friday From Two-Semi Accident

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of a two-semi accident on Highway 30 between Carroll and Glidden on Friday morning at approximately 10:29 a.m. They report that 22-year-old Logan James Bamberg of New Vienna was traveling east bound on 30 in a 2016 Peterbilt semi-tractor trailer with a wide load. Because of the size of the load, Bamberg was slowing for a bridge. A 2000 Kenworth semi-tractor trailer, driven by 62-year-old Ronald George Hausman of Carroll, was also traveling east, but failed to notice the Peterbilt had slowed and he struck the trailer of the Bamberg truck. No injuries were reported, but Highway 30 was shut down for a brief period of time while the accident was cleared. There was an estimated $30,000 in damages to the Hausman truck and $7,500 to the Bamberg Peterbilt. Hausman was cited for failure to maintain control.
