The Greene County Sheriff’s Office investigated a single-vehicle accident on Highway 30, near C Ave., between Ralston and Scranton on Sunday. At approximately 2:04 p.m., officers arrived at the scene to find that 66-year-old Carter Fetters of Jefferson lost control of a 1998 Oldsmobile Achieva. He entered the south ditch and struck a culvert. Neither Fetters nor his passenger, 18-year-old Jacob Monthei of Jefferson, were injured, but the deputy located a substance suspected to be marijuana in the vehicle. Fetters was cited for failure to maintain control and failure to provide proof of financial liability and he will also be charged with possession of marijuana. There was an estimated total of $1,500 in damages.
