Gov. Kim Reynolds appointed Thomas Murphy as district court judge in Iowa’s fifth district on Monday. Murphy will be taking the seat formerly held by Judge Gregory Hulse. The fifth district includes Guthrie, Jasper, Marion, Warren, Madison and Dallas Counties. Murphy, who is from West Des Moines, received his law degree from Drake University Law School and his undergraduate degree from Marquette University. He currently works as an attorney with Hopkins & Huebner, P.C.
