Free Training For Anyone Serving Or Selling Alcohol In Sac County

New Opportunities Inc. has partnered with officers from the Sac City Police Department and the Lake View/Wall Lake Police Department to provide training for anyone serving or selling alcohol in bars, restaurants and at retail establishments. The free Responsible Alcohol Beverage Server Training, known as Training for Intervention ProcedureS, or TIPS, will help attendees learn tactics that benefit themselves and their employer, as well as the patrons they are serving in their community. They will receive training on how to recognize the signs of intoxication and how to identify underage customers. Employees who complete TIPS training are certified for three years and can possibly help lower the business owners’ dram shop insurance rates. Interested parties are asked to contact New Opportunities for more information on the program and the dates the training will take place in April. They can do so by following the link included below. The TIPS training is made possible through the Iowa Partnerships for Success (IPFS) grant.
