Wall Lake resident, DeRae Schroeder, a Family Doctor of Nursing Practice, will begin seeing patients at the St. Anthony Denison Clinic on Tuesday, Jan. 10. Schroeder says she is excited to get her practice started in the Denison community, an area that she proudly calls her home. Schroeder received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Morningside College in Sioux City and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. She comes to the St. Anthony Denison Clinic from Burgess Health Center in Onawa where she served as a family doctor of nursing, nurse practitioner and her previous experience includes working as a registered nurse in the Solid Organ Transplant Unit at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha and as a registered nurse in the St. Anthony Regional Hospital Emergency Department from 2009 to 2013.
