Event At Carroll Armory Next Week Will Match Veterans With Area Employers

The Employers Council of Iowa Veterans is partnering with IowaWorks, and the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve to help match veterans with a new career. On Tuesday, Nov. 14, they will be hosting an event to bring veterans face-to-face with potential employers and offer them the chance to learn more about a variety of different business fields. The doors will open at the Army National Guard Armory on LeClark Road in Carroll at 9:45 a.m. Special presenters will be on hand to discuss the transition and they include: Jason Kemp, who is the program manager for Home Base Iowa; Darlene McMartin, area chair for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve; and Steve Olson, of the veterans employment and training service with the U.S. Department of Labor. The event will run until 2:30 p.m. and is free of charge. A complimentary lunch will be served, but an RSVP is requested from interested employers and veterans. That RSVP is required by the end of the day (Tuesday). Information on how to RSVP is included below.
