Ernst Speaks Out About Democrat’s Boycott Of Pruitt Vote

Senator Joni Ernst, a member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW) yesterday (Wednesday) expressed her disappointment over her Democratic colleagues’ refusal to attend the committee vote on President Trump’s Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) nominee, Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt. She asked “What is the true purpose of their witch hunt?” She said Pruitt has answered more than 1,200 questions, the most total questions ever answered by an EPA administrator nominee for an incoming administration. She said she wants to leave her colleagues on the other side of the aisle with one thought. “Will they take the blame for an EPA that is not fully operational? When people have honest differences of opinion, we debate it,” she said. “But when the goal is simply obstructionism, I will draw this conclusion, we are not responding to the needs of the American people if there is not an EPA Administrator. And folks, those are not my words, those are the words that came from Senator Bernie Sanders in 2013.”
