Iowans will join grassroots organizers with Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement (ICCI) to hold an emergency clean water meeting with Des Moines Water Works CEO, Bill Stowe, and board member, Graham Gillette tonight (Thursday). The meeting will address a measure impacting the lawsuit against Sac, Calhoun and Buena Vista Counties’ drainage districts. From 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the ICCI Headquarters in Des Moines, attendees will learn more about House File 316, a bill introduced last week by Representative Jarad Klein from Keota. The ICCI says the bill is designed to kill the Des Moines Water Works lawsuit, which claims nitrate pollution. The floor will be opened to questions from the public during the meeting.
