The Carroll community is continuing to support the fundraising idea brought forward by four Carroll High School sophomores in March to help the Carroll Police Department with acquiring and training a new K-9 unit. This coming Thursday, June 8, that fundraising campaign continues with a “Donate While You Dine” event at Culver’s in Carroll. Anyone purchasing food at Culver’s during that day will have a portion of their meal price donated back to the department. At the last report, the fund, started by Kayde Nissen, Merkl Kauch, Tyler Tuning and Tyler Comstock had raised over $6,300 towards the more than $20,000 needed. The Carroll Police Department has not had a K-9 unit since 2007, and they say they will continue to raise funds until they reach their goal. Those interested in making a monetary donation can do so by contacting Chief Brad Burke at 792-3536.
