East Sac Community School’s Night Out Will Honor And Empower Local Women And The Men Who Support Them

There is a focus on girls and women, as well as the men that support them, at an upcoming event hosted by the East Sac County Community School. Counselor, Becky Halbur says they are holding the first ever screening of the “Empowerment Project” Thursday, Oct. 19 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the East Sac County Middle School auditorium in Sac City.

Halbur says they will be honoring local women during the event.

Initially, the night was advertised as a mother/daughter event, but they decided to expand the audience.

Halbur says that there are powerful, awesome women in all counties in our area and she says everyone is invited to attend to see what the “Empowerment Project is about.”

Following the viewing, there will be a panel discussion with five women who are local, or who grew up in Sac County, who have gone on to be positive female role models for others. There is no charge for the event and concessions will be available, with all proceeds raised going to the Sac County Mentoring Program. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
