Driver Of Missing Denison Teen’s Vehicle Arrested Monday Night

Crawford County authorities continue to search for a missing girl, 15-year-old Yoana Acosta, after she disappeared when a vehicle she was a passenger in ended up in the Boyer River north of Denison. Sheriff Jim Steinkuehler requested aid from Iowa’s top search team, Task Force-1, and they arrived on scene to begin their search around 9 a.m. Tuesday morning. They are attempting to locate the missing teen with authorities for the next several days and will be searching previously explored areas with a “fine-tooth comb”. Hundreds of law enforcement and emergency agencies and volunteers searched the water and banks of the river as far south as Logan throughout the week. The driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Ramon Hernandez of Denison, was arrested Monday night at approximately 6:20 p.m. and is facing three counts of drug distribution to minors, a class B felony, controlled substance violation, a class D felony, possession of controlled substance, a serious misdemeanor, and failure to maintain control, reckless driving, and driving with license revoked, all simple misdemeanors. Hernandez is currently being held in the Crawford County Jail. Sheriff Steinkuehler is asking the Acosta family remains in your thoughts and prayers.
