DNR Seeking Input On Regulations For Fubearer, Waterfowl and Falconry Hunting

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is asking for the public to make comments on the 2018 furbearer, waterfowl and falconry regulations. The comment period is open from today, Wednesday, Nov. 1, for a full week through Wednesday, Nov. 8. This timeframe does coincide with the opening of the furbearer season on Saturday, Nov. 4. The DNR predicts a good harvest this year as the animal populations are stable with some actually increasing statewide. The season runs through Jan. 31 with just a few exceptions. Beaver season will close on April 15, and both Civet cat, also known as spotted skunk, and gray wolf seasons are marked as continuous closed. Hunters are asked to submit their comments through the link included with this story below. Also included is a link for the rules, regulations, populations and market forecasts for the furbearer season.
