A Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Carroll Campus Student has been named the 2017 Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team Silver Scholar. The recipient of the $1,250 scholarship, Alexius Ridenour, of Jefferson, is enrolled in DMACC’s Liberal Arts program and plans to transfer to Iowa State University (ISU) in the future. She is Vice President of the Carroll Campus Student Activities Council, a DMACC President’s List recipient, member of the Carroll County Leadership Institute, a speaker at the 2016 Opportunity Nation Summit in New York and Recording Secretary for the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society. PTK administers Coca-Cola’s Community College Academic Team Program, and scholarship winners receive national recognition at PTK’s annual convention on April 6-8 in Nashville, Tenn.
