The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has been called in to investigate an apparent shooting in Red Oak. At approximately 4:17 a.m. this morning (Wednesday), the Red Oak Police Department responded to a report of a person lying near East Grimes Street. Upon their arrival, they found an individual who had died from a gunshot wound. The victim’s name has not been released, pending notification of family. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Red Oak Fire Department, Montgomery County Emergency Management, Montgomery County Attorney and Montgomery County Coroner assisted in this incident.
