The Carroll Young Professionals (CYP) Carrollfest takes off at a run Saturday morning with Dash to the Splash. The starting gun for the five-kilometer run/walk fires at 8 a.m. Aug. 12 at the Carroll Rec Center. Participants will start off northbound on Grant Road for a mile-long stretch, turn east on 18th Street to Edgewood Drive, south to Bella Vista Drive before looping back to finish at the Aquatic Center. Rec Center Program Specialist, Mike Mertes, says they have different registration costs for different kinds of racers.
Depending on availability, participants will also receive a Dash to the Splash t-shirt and a race bag filled with items from the event’s sponsors. Registration fees get you more than just some goodies, they also benefit members of the community.
Mertes says there is still time to get signed up.
Following the Dash to the Splash, Carrollfest begins in earnest in Graham Park and DMACC’s lawn area with music, games and fun for the entire family.
