Farmers in Crawford and Greene Counties who have previously registered a livestock premises will be included in the next two rounds of letters from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. In an effort to update the Iowa Premises Registration database, these farmers are asked to respond to the letter and either confirm the information is correct or respond with their updated information. Crawford producers are in the pool to receive their letters in December, while Greene County farmers will see theirs in January. All Iowa livestock producers are encouraged to ensure that all locations where livestock are present have a premises identification number (PIN) and to make sure that it is kept up-to-date. All information is strictly confidential and protected under federal law for use only for animal health purposes.
