Congressman King Proposes Seven Amendments To Omnibus Spending Bill

On Wednesday, U.S. Congressman Steve King submitted seven amendments to the omnibus spending bill, saying that, “During the November election, all Republicans, including President Trump, vowed to uphold our Constitution, cut spending and listen to the American people.” The 2017 omnibus spending bill provides Congress the unique opportunity to uphold those promises, King says. The seven amendments include defunding of Obama’s Deferred Action for Parents of Americans (DAPA) and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) immigration policies as well as the defunding of Obamacare, Planned Parenthood, Obama’s Iran Nuclear Deal and all sanctuary cities. Other amendments include blocking expansion of the H-2B Visa program and a plan to provide funding to build a border wall.
