City Of Carroll Holding Open Houses To Discuss Library And City Hall Projects With Residents

The City of Carroll will be hosting a series of open houses beginning next week to give the general public an opportunity to learn more and ask questions on the proposed Carroll Public Library and City Hall projects. City Manager, Mike Pogge-Weaver, says these open houses are designed to be able to accommodate everyone’s schedule.

There will be three different dates for the open houses: Monday, July 17, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; Wednesday, July 26, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and Thursday, July 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. All of these will be held at the Carroll Public Library, located in the Farner Government Building. Pogge-Weaver says that if people are unable to attend the open houses or would like to gather more information before attending, the city has created other resources that are readily available.

A referendum vote for the two projects will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 1. For the projects to move forward, it will require 60 percent plus one voter approval, and only residents of the City of Carroll can cast a referendum vote. Absentee ballots are now available at the Carroll County Auditor’s office. Polling locations will be open from noon to 8 p.m. on Aug. 1. A full listing of those locations is included below.
