The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) is continuing its agreement with St. Anthony Regional Hospital (SARH) to provide athletic training services for the school’s athletic teams. Under the agreement, SARH would have a staff member at every varsity football game and other agreed upon varsity home events. Superintendent, Rob Cordes, told the CCSD Board of Education the program is cost-efficient and benefits students greatly.
Under the agreement, any injuries that occur during practice or games will be examined to determine its severity. If an injury does occur, the student-athlete will then be referred to a physician of their choice. Cordes says this agreement has existed for many years.
Steve Schable is a certified athletic trainer with St. Anthony Rehabilitation Services and head coach for the CCSD boys track program. The board approved the agreement with four board members in favor, none against, and one, Jen Munson, abstaining.
