CCSD Approves Budget For Initial Summer 2017 Projects

An initial budget for summer projects and maintenance within the Carroll Community School District (CCSD) has been approved at just under $134,000 by the board of directors. Supervisor of Building and Grounds, Jeff Dvorak, submitted a list of the top priorities with cost estimates for consideration. All four of the district’s school buildings need some regular upkeep with additional work on support facilities and equipment. Superintendent, Rob Cordes, says the cost of these projects might be more or less than anticipated.

The main project at Adams Elementary for the summer is the calking and painting of windows in the 1941 addition. At the high school, the building’s east wall needs an estimated $25,000 repair to the brick façade. A $15,000 replacement of carpet in the middle school’s east main corridor is on the schedule. Fairview Elementary has concrete near the south pod slated to be replaced. Cordes indicated these are not the only projects that may take place over the break.

The board unanimously approved the initial budget for the proposed projects, and any additional needs exceeding $5,000 will be brought back to the board for approval. A full list of the expected work can be found included below this story.
