A casting agency has set up shop in the Audubon City Hall this week as they begin their search for local actors to appear in a television commercial for Cenex gas stations. The company, Chicago-based Direct Casting Studios, is in town today (Tuesday) and tomorrow (Wednesday) to meet potential candidates. Casting Director, Chad Bishoff, says they are looking for all types of people with ties to Audubon.
The advertisement is focused primarily on Albert the Bull and will be directed by MJZ, the company behind many of the commercials seen on TV today. A number of well-known directors, including Spike Jonze and Rupert Sanders, are listed as part of MJZ on their website. Bishoff says MJZ has a history of sharing great stories.
Interested people are asked to schedule a time to stop in and talk about the project. An appointment can be made by getting in touch with the agency at the contact points included below this story. They will only be in Audubon through Wednesday, but Bishoff says there are other methods to try out.
Filming will take place the weekend of Nov. 4. The ad, when completed, is expected to air sometime early next year, possibly in February.
