A Carroll woman is accused of being inebriated while dropping her child off at school. At approximately 8:35 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14, the Carroll Police Department responded to Fairview Elementary on reports of a 2005 Cadillac Escalade, operated by 47-year-old Sharon Marie Mansfield, driving on the wrong side of the road. According to authorities, Mansfield exhibited signs of impairment during standardized field sobriety tests (SFST) but refused to finish the assessment. She was arrested and transported to the Carroll County jail where she was charged with child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor, and first-offense operating under the influence, a serious misdemeanor. She faces up to three years imprisonment and a maximum of $8,125 in fines if found guilty on both charges.
