The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 150th Street and U.S. 71 north of Carroll Friday afternoon. At approximately 12:48 p.m., 67-year-old Earl Dean Luft of Westside was southbound on Highway 71 in a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado. He was attempting to negotiate a left-hand turn onto 150th Street when he was struck from behind by a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by 17-year-old Megan Marie Pudenz of Carroll. There were possible minor injuries to both drivers, but neither was transported for treatment. There was an estimated $1,000 in damage to the Silverado and $8,000 in damage to the Grand Prix. Pudenz was cited for failure to maintain control.
