Carroll Stadium Future Decided Today

The official Election Day voting on the $4.5 million bond referendum to assist with the $6.2 million estimated price tag for renovation of the Carroll Stadium opens at noon today. Carroll County Auditor, Kourtney Irlbeck, says they have had an impressive run of absentee voting right up until that closed at 11 a.m. With a little over 10,000 registered voters in the Carroll Community School District, Irlbeck said by 9:30 this morning they had taken in close to 1,600 ballots with 1,594 votes recorded. She is expecting for this to be a busy afternoon and evening at the polls, even though the election is limited to a specific group of voters. Ballots can only be cast by residents living within the Carroll Community School District. Precincts will open their doors at noon with all Carroll Wards, along with Maple River and Arcadia Townships, voting at the First United Methodist Church in Carroll. Sheridan and Grant Township voters will need to go to the Lidderdale Community Building. Pleasant Valley, Newton and Eden Townships will vote at Dedham City Hall. Washington and Roselle Township voters will report to the Halbur Community Building and the Wheatland and Kniest Townships will vote at St. Bernard’s Parish Hall in Breda. Irlbeck says she expects votes to be reported quickly this evening, and hopes to have the unofficial results by approximately 8:15 p.m. Stay tuned to Carroll Broadcasting for those results as soon as they come in.
