Carroll Stadium Committee Co-Chair Says New Facility Will Be Open For Public Use When Completed

The vote to approve or reject Carroll Community School District’s (CCSD) Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) for $4.5 million on the proposed $6.2 million stadium reconstruction project is tomorrow (Tuesday), Feb. 7, and one of the people involved in its design says it is more than just a football field. Stadium Committee Co-chair, Chad Ross, along with others, intend the facility to be an asset to all community members.

Admission to the facility when not in use will be free, and a simple gate will prevent most prohibited items from entry.

The CCSD Board of Directors released a statement in December indicating their intentions to keep the stadium available when not being used by the schools. Ross says this is unlikely to change unless the rules are ignored.

The vote will approve 67 cents per $1,000 of taxable home value for a maximum of 10 years to be used to fund the stadium. On Tuesday, Feb. 7, polling locations will be open from noon until 8 p.m. in Carroll, Halbur, Dedham, Breda and Lidderdale. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you results after polls close. A link to a sample ballot for the PPEL can be found included with this story on our website.
