Carroll County Officials Release Details On County Ambulance Director Resignation

Details were released Thursday by Carroll County officials regarding the resignation of County Ambulance Director, Pat Gray, and showed the reasons behind his resignation. The Carroll County Board of Supervisors held two closed sessions, one Aug. 14 and another Aug, 21, to discuss Gray’s employment with the county. The supervisors’ issue with Gray arose when details emerged indicating he allowed unlicensed personnel to operate an ambulance and certified a wage rate for an employee as a paramedic when the employee was, in fact, not a paramedic. Gray chose to resign his position in lieu of termination. Due to a change in Iowa law earlier this year, the county is authorized to release personnel details in a situation such as this.
