Axel And Other Audubon County Authorities Catch Fleeing Suspect Saturday Near Gray

The Audubon County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Manning resident after a car and foot chase on Saturday evening. At approximately 11 p.m., a deputy attempted to stop 53-year-old Delaine Glenn Petersen near Dover Ave. and 130th Street, southwest of Gray. Petersen fled in his vehicle into Gray, where he stopped in the 200 block of 2nd Ave. and fled on foot. K-9 Axel was deployed and led authorities to the location where Petersen was hiding, as well as to the location that Petersen had thrown evidence while running from law enforcement. He was transported to the Audubon County jail and charged with possession of marijuana, third or subsequent offense, interference with official acts, possession of drug paraphernalia, eluding law enforcement and numerous traffic infractions. Petersen was released after an appearance before the magistrate and posting of a cash bond.
