Authorities Still Searching For Suspect Involved In Three-County Police Chase

A high-speed chase involving multiple law enforcement agencies and spanning three counties started early Thursday morning in Sac City and authorities are still searching for the driver. At approximately 2 a.m., officers with the Sac City Police Department attempted to stop a motorcycle traveling through town. Rather than stop, the driver fled at a high rate of speed. Officers pursued the individual who, after reaching Highway 20, fled east. As the suspect continued through Calhoun County into Webster County, the Fort Dodge Police Department was contacted to assist in the chase. The motorcycle entered Fort Dodge at Highway 20 and 169. The driver headed north to the off ramp at Highway 169 and 2nd Avenue. The individual then struck the median, lost control of the vehicle and fled on foot. Law enforcement formed a perimeter near the Fort Dodge Country Club and used a K9 unit from Sac County in an attempt to track the driver. At this time, the individual has not been located, and law enforcement are requesting anyone with information contact the Fort Dodge Police Department at 515-573-1426. The Webster, Sac and Calhoun County Sheriff’s Offices, Iowa State Patrol and Rockwell City Police Department also assisted in the incident.
