The Carroll Police Department is continuing an investigation into the cause of death of a small child in Carroll on Friday morning. Law enforcement officials and Carroll County Emergency Medical Services were called to the 500 block of West 3rd Street at approximately 7:10 a.m. on the report of a four-year-old male who was not breathing. He was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The name of the child is being withheld pending notification of family members. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene.
