Audubon Doctor’s Medical License Temporarily Suspended By Iowa Board Of Medicine

The Iowa Board of Medicine settled a dispute last week with an Audubon-based family physician accused of providing false information regarding his medical school attendance history. In the agreement, 42-year-old Christopher F. Stubbs, M.D. was issued a citation and warning for unprofessional conduct, had his Iowa Medical License suspended for 10 days beginning Oct. 28 and was ordered to pay a $5,000 civil penalty.  The Board alleged Stubbs failed to disclose his attendance and termination from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica on applications for clinical knowledge exams to the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical School Graduates. The Board also alleged Stubbs used misleading information as part of his online work biography on the Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics website. Stubbs is required to complete a professional ethics program and will be on professional probation subject to Board monitoring for three years.
