Arrest Warrants Requested On Jamaica Resident For July Theft

The Jefferson Police Department was assisted by the Greene and Guthrie County Sheriff’s Offices and the Iowa State Patrol in executing a search warrant in the 300 block of Main Street in Jamaica on Monday morning. Authorities were acting on a tip received that the vehicle of a suspect of a July 31 theft was seen at that address. The officers executed the warrant and searched for tools stolen from a Durlam Electric truck that was parked at Fareway in July. Video footage obtained from the store showed a passenger vehicle and a male suspect committing the theft. The tools were not recovered, but arrest warrants have been requested for 41-year-old Brett Dwaine West of Jamaica for second-degree theft, a class D felony, and third-degree burglary, an aggravated misdemeanor.
