A fundraiser is being held in Greene County this weekend to honor the memory of a well-known member of the area’s cattle market. Beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 27 at 746 Q Avenue, about five miles northeast of Jefferson, the Pat Fields Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser will be hosted at Mike and Kathy Bravard’s farm. Jon Schaben, with the Dunlap Livestock Auction, says the cattlemen wanted to put an event together to honor his memory.
The money raised will go to continue a program which provides a scholarship to one graduating senior from Greene County each year. Schaben says the program will last for almost five hours and consists of two parts.
Fields passed away in June earlier this year while driving his tractor and was 46 years old at the time of his death. Pat is survived by his wife, Michelle, and two daughters, Allison and Kaitlin.
