There are more than 65 million family caregivers across the country, providing emotional, financial, nursing, social, homemaking and other services on a daily or intermittent basis. The Carroll County Extension, Iowa State University Human Sciences Extension and Outreach, Elderbridge Agency on Aging, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Swan Place, St. Anthony Regional Hospital and Kindred Hospice are sponsoring an educational workshop for caregivers. The six, 90-minute Powerful Tools for Caregivers sessions will begin May 9th and be held once a week at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Experienced leaders, Anjanette Treadway and Dr. David Brown will be conducting each interactive session that includes discussions and brainstorming to help caregivers take the tools they choose and put them to action in their lives.
