Temporary stop signs have been placed at the corner of Grant Road and Highway 30 in Carroll as another signal light has been taken out of commission. Director of Public Works, Randy Krauel shares what they know about how the light pole on the south west corner of the intersection was damaged.
Unfortunately, this is a situation that occurs frequently enough that the city has parts on hand to fix the pole in a timely manner so as not to have to wait for replacement.
This is one of the issues with the Grant Road and Highway 30 intersection that will be addressed with the widening of the road to add turning lanes and further offsetting the poles from the intersection.
Krauel says they believe that the pole will be fixed and back in service yet this afternoon. Until then, drivers are asked to use caution in the area at the posted four-way stop.
