American Idol Open Auditions Coming To Omaha, Neb.

In May, ABC announced they would be resurrecting the iconic singing competition, “American Idol”, only one year after Fox canceled it due to a slump in ratings. This announcement was followed up in late July with a confirmation that former front man, Ryan Seacrest, would be picking up the mike to host the series on its new station. No judges have been identified as of yet. The series, which spanned 15 seasons on Fox, is slated to hit the airwaves again in January of 2018. And just like in the former seasons, the quest for the next superstar begins with open auditions around the country for hopefuls to punch a golden ticket to the next round of the competition. On Tuesday, Aug. 29, there will be an open call for auditions at Lewis & Clark Landing in Omaha, Neb. Contestants must be 15 to 28 years of age and a legal resident of the United States. Registration can be done in person or online. A link to the registration page on the “American Idol” website can be found below. Contestants wishing to register in person can do so on the day of the audition. It is currently being estimated that registration in each city will start no later than 9 a.m. and will continue throughout the day. Some locations may prevent people from lining up before 6 a.m. and there will be no overnight camping inside or outside allowed at any of the locations. Registration does not necessarily mean you will get the chance to audition. All contestants should bring a photograph of themselves and a valid form of identification that shows proof of age.
