A Few Changes And A Lot Of Bad Authority At Saturday’s CYP Carrollfest

This Saturday will mark the fifth annual Carroll Young Professionals Carrollfest at Graham Park and on the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) campus. CYP member, Jen Schulte, says they are kicking things off bright and early at 8 a.m., just as they have done every year, in their partnership with the Carroll Rec Center for the Dash and Splash 5K. That will be followed by the sand volleyball tournaments and a ton of activities for the kids.

Schulte says they are bringing back the human foosball and giant Jenga tournaments and adding a mechanical bull in the beer garden. But organizers have made some changes to help families get a little more fun from those activities.

Two local bands will be performing Saturday night with Wild Ambition taking the band shell stage from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. They will be followed by local rock n’ roll favorites, Bad Authority from 9 p.m. to midnight. Lead guitarist and vocalist, Kyler Brinker, says they have been very busy, performing about every weekend this summer, including sharing the bill with legendary groups like Jackal and Great White. Brinker provides a preview of what to expect on Saturday night.

Bassist, Miles Millard, says there are a lot of different ways that fans can find out more about their Carrollfest show and other upcoming appearances.
