Workforce recruitment in Carroll County to take center stage in CADC 3 year strategic plan

Members of the Carroll Area Development Corporation (CADC) will create a new three-year strategic plan for Carroll County this month. The plan, which covers 2016 thru 2018, will further develop previously addressed issues according to CADC Executive Director Shannon Landauer, and will include business retention and expansion, marketing impact, legislative advocacy, transportation/infrastructure, and there will also be a new primary focus for the next three years.

She shares what’s behind the driving force for the needed larger workforce.

She says a key data point for planning for a future workforce is knowing a community’s vacancy rate for both rental and ownership. Carroll County’s current vacancy rate is a little bit low, says Landauer, however providing for the required people-capita during the next three years will be individualized for each community thanks to forthcoming data which was gathered from the CADC Housing Survey and provided plans from individual businesses.

Feedback from businesses throughout the county will be included in the three-year strategic planning process, and Landauer says input is always welcome. On January 19 the CADC board will met to finalize the three-year plan. In an upcoming broadcast we’ll have a more in depth look at the possibilities future business and population growth could mean for the county and its residents.
