Whitenack Back In Custody After Altercation At Scranton Residence

Thirty-five-year-old Robert Oscar Whitenack has once again been taken into custody by authorities after an altercation at a residence in the 1000 block of Grant Street in Scranton at approximately 2:06 p.m. on Monday afternoon. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report and, after an investigation, Whitenack and 33-year-old Patricia Ann Haynes were both taken into custody and charged with domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness. Also arrested and charged with assault was 64-year-old Erla Beth Whitenack of Westside. Whitenack made headlines in August when he was cleared by a jury on a charge of dominion or control of a firearm or offensive weapon by a felon levied in May. Just one day after the incident for that charge, Whitenack was involved in a standoff with local authorities that closed down a section of Highway 30 in east Carroll for just over two hours when Whitenack threatened harm to himself and others. Three days after being found not guilty by the jury in August, Whitenack was back in a Carroll County jail on suspicion of theft charges.
