Kim Weaver, a Democrat who is running for the Congressional seat currently held by Steve King in the fourth district, says she wants to be the voice of our seniors. She has worked for the past eight years as a long-term care ombudsman, which has allowed her to gain a deeper understanding of the difficulties this generation is facing. The high cost of long-term care, medications and the threat to their Social Security safety net has turned retirement into a time of struggle for many, she said. As an advocate for seniors, Weaver says she wants to stand up for them and for their rights, and if elected, will work to help them enjoy a safe and secure retirement.
