Wall Lake Public Library Hosts Thousands Of Patrons in 2016

The Wall Lake Public Library might not be in a large town, but it does see big numbers when it comes to people using the library’s services. The 2016 library report listed nearly 8,000 patrons checking out books and movies from the library, using library programs and taking advantage of the computers they offer on site. Wall Lake only has around 800 citizens, but Library Director, Jody Fischer, says with the number of programs they provide, that amount of patrons isn’t surprising.

The City of Wall Lake provides the library with $33,000 dollars a year to assist with those programs and pays the utility costs for the library. Fischer says they make the most of that funding by being creative with their programming.

She says it feels great to have such interest from the community in the small town library.

The Wall Lake Library is open Monday through Saturday at varying times, and all are encourage to stop in and enjoy the library. The library’s operating hours can be found included with this story below.
